Central Station Waterproofing

Waterproofing of 900m² at Sydney’s Central Station using Ardex WPM1000 for a paver-bonded system. Delivered with precision under complex, high-traffic conditions.

As one of Sydney’s most iconic and heavily trafficked public structures, Central Station required a high-performance waterproofing solution that could stand up to both environmental exposure and daily operational stress. The project involved the waterproofing of a 900m² area designated for pedestrian use, where pavers would be installed directly over the membrane—demanding absolute reliability and durability.

To meet these performance requirements, we selected the Ardex WPM1000 membrane system, a robust sheet waterproofing solution ideal for direct-bonded applications. The project began with precise substrate preparation, including leveling and priming, to ensure maximum adhesion and membrane integrity. Once the surface was ready, our skilled technicians applied the WPM1000 sheets, with all seams heat-welded and junctions meticulously detailed to prevent water ingress.

Given the scale and prominence of the site, quality control was paramount. Each stage of the installation was reviewed and tested to confirm adherence to both manufacturer specifications and project requirements. The entire system was inspected before the pavers were laid, ensuring complete waterproof protection beneath the finished surface.

The successful delivery of this high-profile project underscores MagnaSeal’s expertise in large-scale, technical waterproofing environments and demonstrates our ability to perform under tight timelines and complex site conditions.
