Rooftop Waterproofing

Coastal rooftop waterproofing in Wollongong using fully adhered Sika Sarnafil membrane. Designed for high UV and salt exposure with detailed, long-lasting protection.

Set along the picturesque but harsh coastline of Wollongong, this rooftop waterproofing project required a solution capable of withstanding some of the most demanding environmental conditions—persistent salt-laden air, high humidity, and intense UV exposure. These factors are known to accelerate the degradation of standard waterproofing systems, so material selection and installation quality were critical to long-term performance.

After careful assessment, we chose the Sika Sarnafil fully adhered membrane system, a product specifically engineered for coastal applications where durability and dimensional stability are essential. The membrane’s high resistance to UV radiation, salt corrosion, and thermal movement made it the ideal choice for this beachfront structure.

Our team executed a full-surface adhesion, ensuring a seamless bond between the membrane and the substrate. We paid close attention to parapet walls, roof penetrations, and drainage outlets, where water intrusion risks are highest. All joints were expertly heat-welded and tested to confirm watertight integrity across the entire system.

The result is a robust, long-lasting waterproofing solution that not only protects the building from environmental wear but also supports its structural integrity and aesthetic value. This project exemplifies MagnaSeal’s ability to deliver tailored waterproofing systems in high-exposure, performance-critical environments.
